Hey, let's face it, nobody wants to run uphill! We still don't understand what Chip was thinking. So, in order to get you to do it, we thought hey let's have a dress-up party and have some fun!
Here is how it works:
- Register for one of the listed theme wave categories. Be a superhero, run in your underwear, or run in nothing at all!
- Closer to the race, we'll tell you what times your theme waves run (between 6:00 and 7:30pm).
- Dress (or not) the part, hang out with similar themed crazies, and once the wave goes, run the hill!
- At the end (one mile up) get ready to party. You'll be rewarded with a lululemon tech top, food, drink and a concert.
ONLINE REGISTRATION closes on June 17 at midnight. After that, you can only register at 10th and Alma starting at 5pm.
Corporate Division
For Corporate Speedsters! Register in Chip's Mile for the Raymond James Corporate Cup!
For the competitive types, call out your company's rivals and enter your company's fastest runners in the Raymond James Corporate Cup to compete against other local companies. We'll pit your company's finest milers against each other. Here is how it works. You can enter as many participants in the TIMED Corporate Cup wave as you wish. When registering, make sure that you put your company's name on the registration form under "Team Section". The top 5 mile times from your company will be used for the competitive team cup calculation. The company with the lowest cumulative times of their fastest 5 runners will win the coveted Raymond James Cup, and all the associated bragging rights!
For the not so speedy corporate registrants, we also have huge incentives to GET INVOLVED.
Loden Hotel Corporate Incentives!
The new Loden Hotel in Coal Harbour wants to inspire you and your coworkers to sign up and run in Chip's Mile.
Simply register for the Mile in the corporate cup wave, identify which company you work for while registering and you will be eligible to win one of two weekend extravaganzas from the new Loden Hotel (2 nights accommodation, brunch and a spa packaged valued at $1100). Winners are randomly selected (again, when registering, make sure that you put your company's name on the registration form under "Team Section").
In addition, your registration will earn your company an entry in the raffle to win the Corporate Grand Prize - lunch for 10 high-performers with lululemon athletica founder Chip Wilson in the Loden Hotel Halo Suite. The more people from your company who enter, the greater the odds of winning lunch with Chip.

$20,000 Cash Elite Race
Yes you read it correctly. Winner takes all, man or woman, gender graded, head to head, all on the same line!
Race Notes:
- women will receive a 50 to 70 second head start (the actual time will be determined by BC Athletics once we have all elite athletes registered)
- first PERSON across the line wins $20,000
- second PERSON across the line gets the best view of some other PERSON winning $20,000, but that is all they get
- course is certified as 1 mile by BC Athletics
- elevation gain is approximately 50 meters
- elite athletes must apply to the race director and submit their top 2007 and 2008 certified race times
- prior to the race, the female head start handicap will be calculated based on variance between the fastest submitted male and female times (using the Mercier tables to estimate 1 mile performance)
- due to the calculations required, we must close registration in this category on June 15 at midnight - NO EXCEPTIONS
- if any racer false starts, the event will still proceed as planned however the individual(s) that started early will be disqualified
- Registered Racers MUST arrive at Body and Soul (3785 West 10th at Highbury Street) no later than 6:45pm or they will not be permitted to race
The Bahamas Bridal Dash

Super Heroes Half Mile
It's a bird, it's a plane! No wait, it's the finish line, and our Sea-o-Super Heroes are about to cross it! That's right, break out that old Halloween costume from 15 years ago, and stretch it over your muscle-rippling body and head on down to show off your super powers. No Super Hero is too young (kids run), or too wacky to miss this event. And who knows, maybe the real Super Man will be amongst the group...
Added bonus for the kids! 100 kids wll be randomly selected to win a pair of kids CROCS. Just go to the CROCS tent at the finish line, and see if you won. All kids get a free CROCS Jibbitzs!
Kids under 10 must accompanied by an adult.
All kids registered by June 3 will receive a personalized bib, but no shirt.
Pimped Out Rides
MTV may have created the vision, but we're taking it to a level never attempted before. So if you have a baby stroller, wheelchair or even a wheel barrel, turn it into a float with streamers, ribbons, and noisemakers. Take you 'machine' and push it up the hill in style, and loud screaming kids welcome!
Crocs Timed Run
Waves of assorted age groups.
Yeah, if you just want to see how fast you can run one mile uphill, we have the wave. Men and Women's heats will run with timing chips for King and Queen of the hill honours. 200 people randomly selected will receive a free pair of CROCS (only for runners in this wave). Its easy, run the hill, then go to the CROCS tent at the finish line to see if you won a free pair of CROCS!
Rock Star! (aka Team Journey)
Meet Journey: a very special 8-year old who was recently affected by the lack of funding at BC Children's Hospital. Her family wants to see things change. Do you?
This call goes out to all those who want to unleash their inner rockstar! Our wave is not only in honor of Journey, but any child who has needed or might need facilities at BC Children's Hospital.
