Think of this as part run, walk, parade and party. You can run as a registered timed event or register for one of the theme waves (we even have a 'create your own wave' category).
The goal is to participate, celebrate life and raise money for BC Children's Hospital.
So, on Friday evening, June 20th, 2008, West 10th Avenue will be completely closed to traffic and the event starts. All participants will amass at Alma and West 10th Avenue, and in your themed wave, you will summit the hill, one mile exactly to the top. Along the way, thousands of excited viewers will cheer you on. Drummers and cheerleaders will also help motivate you, and as you come to the finish, the party starts! After the final $20,000 winner takes all, each waves finishes, everyone will make their way to West 10th Ave. between Sasamat and Tolmie for more festivities. As an added bonus, the Live Street Party site at West 10th Ave. between Sasamat and Tolmie will feature the pop-reggae sounds of California-based Canadian musician Chris Velan!
